KEOKUK - Fort Madison couldn't get a player in double figures for the second time this and fell to Keokuk 52-28 on the road in Southeast conference girls basketball action.

The Lady Hounds looked to make a game of it in the first half in a low-scoring affair. The two teams were tied at 8 a piece after the first quarter and the Chiefs (7-2) held a slight 14-12 advantage at the end of the half.

The Chiefs however, go things going in the third quarter putting up 21 points. Cassidy Koeber put up six and freshman Kayde Martin hit a 3-ball and a bucket has Keokuk pulled away with 21-7 run that ended Fort Madison's hopes for an upset.

The Keokuk girls have now won seven in a row, including three against conference opponents.

The hot scoring continued for the hosts in the fourth period as Fort Madison tried to foul there way back into the game sending Keokuk to the free throw line 10 times. The Chiefs would knock down 8 of 10 and sophomore Alivia Myhre would add a 3-pointer for good measure.

Dalyn Wondra had five points in the fourth quarter for Fort Madison.

The Hounds again had trouble from the field, converting just 8-of-28 for 29% and missed five of 11 free throws, while committing 19 turnovers.

Anna Kester scored nine on the night to lead Fort Madison. Brandy Walker who's averaging closet to nine points a game had just four for Fort Madison. Sara Bernhart had six, Wondra five, Camille Kruse added three and Isabella Boeding had one in the loss.

Walker had 15 rebounds to lead all players. Fort Madison had 30 rebounds total, but only five were on the offensive side.

The Lady Hounds are 4-4 on the year and host Burlington Notre Dame Monday in girls/boys junior varsity/varsity double header.
