Jesse Franklin Foglesong, Sr.,  99, of Dallas City, Illinois died at 6:28 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Illinois Veterans Home, Quincy, Illinois.  He was born September 16, 1920 in Schuyler County, Missouri, a son of Charles J. and Iva Jane (Webster) Foglesong.  He first married Kathryn R. Zern, they had three children: Frances, Ellen, and Frank.  They later divorced.  In June 1950, he married Marie Lowman.  She preceded him in death August 1982.  On April 14, 1983, he married Lyla L. Tubbs in Linton, Indiana.  She preceded him in death June 23, 2011.

Jesse lived most of his life in Henderson and Hancock Counties in Illinois. He worked construction and was an electrician, retiring after 42 years of service. He was a HAM Radio Operator. He had been a member of the Dallas City Mason Lodge #193, since 1946. He was a former member of the Pontoosuc Community Church.

He is survived by two daughters: Frances (Chuck) Crupper, of Ivesdale, Illinois and Ellen Poulter, of Blandinsville, Illinois; one son, Jesse “Frank” Foglesong, Jr., of Dallas City; two step-sons, Dennis and Roy Tubbs; one step-daughter, Marlene Walters; one brother, Dorn Ival Vandorn Foglesong, of Indiana; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, one sister Rosalind Cassill, one brother William Foglesong, and one grandson.

Graveside services with military rites will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Harris Cemetery, Dallas City.  A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Foglesong Family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
