Analie S. Leininger, 100, of Nauvoo, Illinois passed away at 2:35 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at her home.

She was born on May 13, 1919 in Adliswil, Switzerland the daughter of Henry and Rosa (Haller) Egolf. She emigrated to Nauvoo with her family in 1922. In 1942 she married Richard D Scott in Victoria, Texas. He was a pilot of a B-17 and was Killed-In-Action in September of 1943 near Sicily during World War II. On November 5, 1949 she married Alfred E. Leininger in Nauvoo. He preceded in death on May 22, 1993.

Analie was a 1937 graduate of the Nauvoo High School. She then attended Western Illinois Teachers College, Macomb, Illinois. Analie worked various jobs throughout her life as a secretary, librarian, music teacher, church organist and as a fabric store sales clerk. She loved day lily gardening, sewing, furniture refinishing, cooking, reading and cats. Analie and Alfred took trips to Europe to meet her Swiss cousins, or stay with Rosalyn and Jan in Germany. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Nauvoo.

Survivors include one son: David Alfred Leininger of Nauvoo; one daughter: Rosalyn (Jan) Sorensen of Hamilton, Illinois; nieces and nephews: Brian, David and Bill Evenson and Linda Richards; several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one sister: Rosa Evenson and one brother: Henry Egolf Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Schmitz-Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo with Pastor Pete Hagglund officiating. Burial will be in the Nauvoo City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the Christ Lutheran Church or American Heart Association.
