Lucille Helen Weiler, 94, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Thursday, January 09, 2020 at 3:55 AM at Sunnybrook Assisted Living.

   She was born on February 10, 1925 near Primrose, IA to John and Elizabeth Trump Wagner.  She grew up the fourth oldest in a family of nine children.  Lucille graduated from Donnellson High School in 1943.  After graduating she moved to San Antonio, TX and began work as a typist.  Later that year she returned to Ft. Madison and began working at Sheaffer Pen Co.  Lucille retired from the Gleason Corporation after many years of employment.  

On June 21, Lucille married William Weiler.Together they raised four children.Lucille was very special to so many people.She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.She provided them with a lifetime full of fond memories.While maintaining a loving environment, Lucille worked tirelessly raising her family.Ask anyone that knew her and they will tell you that she had a unique knack and joy for pulling weeds, cleaning and doing laundry.Lucille had a feisty and outgoing spirit that left a footprint on the hearts of many she met.She was one of those people that made you laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger and live just a little bit better.She will be sorely missed by her family and loved ones and also her special family at Sunnybrook where she resided for almost ten years.Her husband, William can finally rest in peace since his love has joined him.

   Lucille is survived by her daughters, Sharilyn (Bernie) Umthum and Rhonda (Rod) Staggs; her son, Monty (Julie) Weiler; nine grandchildren, Bron, Kurt, Justin, Shayna, Lindsay, Shelby, Ashley, Jessica and Sydney; twenty great grandchildren, Jayden, Kamryn, Channing, Kali, Addison, Jackson, Bennett, Case, Landon, Talan, Mason, Olivia, Avery, Dempsey, Harrison, Dylan, Deacon, Carson, Beckett and Roman; her sisters, Dottie Hobart and Cora Pollmeier; her brothers, Roland and Larry Wagner.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Weiler; her son, Danne Weiler, her parents, her sister Ruby Burdette and her brothers, Leroy, Harold, and John Wagner.   

   The memorial service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11 AM at the Ft. Madison United Methodist Church with Rev. Lane Van officiating.  The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church.  A private family burial will be held in Soldiers’ Circle, Oakland Cemetery.  Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.
