LEE COUNTY - The following is a listing of current events and happenings in and around Fort Madison and north Lee County as submitted to the Pen City Current

TEAM Staffing Ribbon Cutting
Fort Madison Chamber of Commerce will be holding a ribbon-cutting for TEAM Staffing's new location at 1001 Avenue H on Friday, Jan. 17 at 9 a.m.

DreamBuilder
The Fort Madison and Keokuk chambers of commerce along with the Freeport-McMoRan foundation are holding a four-month class in entrepreneurship beginning Feb. 5th. Cost is $120 per person, but refundable by Freeport-McMoRan for those who graduate.

Legislative Luncheon
Area legislators come together for lunch and to discuss topics in front of the Iowa Legislature and answer questions from constituents on Friday, Jan. 17 at River Rocks Bar and Grill beginning at noon.

FMHS Cake Auction
11th Annual Cake Auction will be held between the girls and boys games with Holy Trinity and at halftimes Saturday, Jan. 18th. Proceeds support the Fort Madison athletic programs.

Beekeeping course
The Lee County Extension Office in Donnellson will hold a beginning beekeeper course on Thursdays beginning Jan. 30 through Feb. 20. Class is $25 each or $35 for couples and pre-registration is required. Call the Extension office at 319-835-5116 to register.

Leadership Workshop
The Fort Madison Chamber is hosting a Leadership Workshop presented by Meagan Vogel and Michael Maher of Elite Solutions of Ankeny. The workshop runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 31. Email mvogel@elitesolutionsia.com to register. Cost of the workshop is $50.

Lee County Health Department
LCHD will host Family Connections at Madison Baptist Church in Fort Madison from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Child care is provided.

Health Clinics
Senior Health Clinics will be held in Fort Madison at Sunnybrook from 10 to 11 a.m. on Jan. 23. An immunization clinic will be held on Jan. 23 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Lee County Health Department's offices #3 John Bennett Drive.

Daffodil days
American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days is March 3-6. Orders can be made through Kim Jud at Lee County Bank by Feb. 7, 2020.

STEMFest
The Southeast Iowa STEMFest will be held at SCC's West Burlington campus from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dozens of exhibits and hands-on activities involving Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Science Fair
The Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary Science Fair is set for Jan. 30th with public viewing from 11 a.m. to 11:45 at the Elementary School in West Point. The HTC high school event will be held Feb. 5th at the high school from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.. A spaghette dinner fundraiser will be held beginning at 5 p.m. sponsored by the HTC Science Club Boosters.

Kensington events
The Kensington is offering Senior’s Only Community Bingo on the second Wednesday of every month at 2 p.m. The event is free for seniors and cash prizes are awarded. Caregivers Connection is held the 4th Tuesday of every month at noon. Call 319-372-4233 to reserve your seat.

Partners Annual Dinner
The Fort Madison Partners will be holding their annual dinner on Feb. 21.

Baxter Sports Complex Fundraiser
The 3rd annual Baxter Sports Complex Social Tour and Auction Fundraiser on Feb. 29, 2020. Tickets will be on sale soon at the sports complex.
