FMEDC gets behind FMHS welding students

Posted

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison Economic Development Corporation (FMEDC) presented a check for $1000.00 to the FMHS Welding Program after challenging them with a match for any funds they raise - up to $1,000.00.

These funds will go to help bolster the welding program at the high school, as well as provide the needed money to get a piece of equipment up and running, which will give the program the opportunity to fabricate projects that will allow them to raise money for the program.

FMEDC’s mission is to improve the economy of the Fort Madison area through the retention of jobs, while realizing a constant growth in employment through: job creation, focusing on industrial relations and development.

Continuing the on-going support for our trades program and giving the next generation of workforce the opportunity to experience these skills is a continued goal for the economic development group
