BHS rolls Bloodhounds on the road

BURLINGTON - The Fort Madison Bloodhounds lost their fifth game in the last six with a 72-47 drubbing at the hands of Burlington Thursday night in a make up game Saturday.

The Hounds, who had hopes of contending for the Southeast Iowa Conference title at the beginning of the year, are now 0-6 in loop play with four Southeast games to go.

Despite getting 11 points from sophomore Dayton Davis in the first half, Fort Madison trailed by 14 going into halftime. Burlington had built an eight point first quarter lead and stretched it to 38-24.

It was the third period that buried the Hounds with Burlington putting up 23, behind Anakin Kelly's eight points.

Fort Madison's Miles Dear would heat in the fourth period connecting on three 3-pointers, but it was too little too late. Dear would finish will 11 on the night

Davis would lead the Bloodhounds with 15 points on the night followed by Jayden Fedler, who scored 14. Parker Denning had four, Michael Mosena scored a bucket and Romeo Maestro had one to round out Fort Madison's scorers.

Michael Alexander led the Grayhounds (5-5, 3-2) with 17 points while Trenton Murray had 11 and Amarion Davis had 10.

Fort Madison (3-9, 0-6) travels to Fairfield on Friday night for another Southeast Conference matchup.
