Michael J. DeHaven, 67, of Pontoosuc, IL passed away  Monday, February 10, 2020 at his home.
    He was born May 21, 1952, the son of Newell and D. Kathryn Barker DeHaven. On July 12, 1974, he married Jeanette Ann Lumsden in Palmyra, MO. She preceded him in death on November 11, 2017.
    Michael was a graduate of the Dallas City High School. Hew worked as a Correctional Guard at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison, retiring in 2012. He was also a mechanic and welder. He enjoyed shooting guns.
    He is survived by five sons, Shawn DeHaven of Burlington, IA, Chris DeHaven of Sterling, IL, Chet  DeHaven of Burlington, Ronnie DeHaven of Pontoosuc and Andrew DeHaven also of Pontoosuc, two sisters, Judith Scott of Canton, MO and Coleen Clark of LaGrange, MO and one brother, Brad DeHaven of Fort Madison.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one sister, Donna Link.
