UPDATE: Stolen cars reported seen in area

FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Police has received several eyewitness reports of the vehicles stolen from Jim Baier Ford overnight or early this morning.

The latest information is that one or more of the vehicles was seen in the Donnellson area at about 4:30 this morning. Police then received a report that the vehicles could have possibly taken the Quincy exit of Hwy. 27 south, and final report had them in the Chillicothe, Mo. area at about 8:30 a.m. headed toward Kansas City.

The cars were reported stolen from Jim Baier Ford in Fort Madison between 9:30 p.m. and with recent information on the citings, sometime before 4:30 a.m.

Law enforcement and Jamie Baier, of Jim Baier Ford, released images of the vehicles and are asking for anyone with any information about the thefts of citings of the vehicles to call Fort Madison Police.

Jim Baier staff are currently conducting inventory of the dealership to determine exactly what was taken.

The suspects gained entry by breaking in a window and moving up to the showroom where they busted open key lock boxes and found the keys to the vehicles in the showroom and several in the lot. The showroom vehicles were driven out the front doors.

Baier said the suspects also ransacked the sales staff's offices and stole dealership plates
