Howard Francis Hymes, 62 of Denmark IA, died Wednesday February 19, 2020 at his home after an extended illness. 

     He was born May 26, 1957 in Fort Madison, IA the son of Charles and Cecilia Sherwood Hymes Sr. On July 10, 1979, he married Tina Troja, they later divorced. 

     Howard worked for Gleasons for many years, Feinberg's and Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course in maintenance and greens keeper. He loved to hunt and go arrowhead hunting. Finding morel mushrooms was easy for him and shared his finds with his family. 

     Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Lyndon) Vacek and Michelle Wagner, both of New London IA, one son, Bradley (Jessica) Jarvis of Milwaukie, OR, one brother Warren Hymes of Salem IA, five sisters, Marcie Duval of Hannacroix, NY, Gwen New of Leesburg FL, Joan Nelson of Fort Madison, IA, Charlotte Sanders of Richards, TX and Dianna Mincks of Fort Madison, IA, three grandsons, Collin and Ethan Collis and Ryan Thebeau, one granddaughter, Chloe Collis and numerous nieces and nephews. 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, two nieces, three nephews and two great nephews.  

     Per his wishes there will be no funeral or visitation. 

     There will be a celebration of life March 1, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. at the Corner Tap in West Point, IA.

     The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA is assisting the family with arrangements.
