Filing window for June primary started Monday

Township, soil and water candidates must also file now


LEE COUNTY – Monday, March 2nd was the first day for Democratic and Republican Candidates to file papers to run for office on the June 2nd Primary Ballot.
Township officials and Soil and Water District candidates that wish to be on the November 3rd General Election ballot must also file during this time period due to a new law.
The deadline for filing is 5:00 p.m. March 25th.
You must complete and file an Affidavit of Candidacy and a Nomination Petition. These forms are available on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website or you can obtain them by calling the Lee County Auditor’s Office at 319-372-3705 or emailing Lee County Auditor Denise Fraise at . A Guide for Candidates can be found on the Secretary of State’s website. Signature requirements can be obtained from the County Auditor’s Office.
