The following are press releases from the cities of Fort Madison, Montrose, Donnellson, and West Point regarding operations dealing with COVID-19 and coronavirus. They are printed in their entirety.

LEE COUNTY - In accordance with directives and recommendations from Governor Reynolds, the Iowa Department of Public Health, and the Center for Disease Control the City of Montrose effective Wednesday, March 18, will close the Montrose Library, the Ivor Fowler Community Center, and the Montrose Gym until April 13, 2020, at which time the situation will be revaluated or the Governor lifts the Emergency Proclamation. During this time all related library and recreation activities and programs will be cancelled or postponed.
Any current reservations for the Community Center will be refunded, unless renters want to reschedule. Park restrooms will remain closed for the duration of the COVID-19 closures and Park staff will not be able to clean/sanitize park equipment so individuals should take appropriate hand washing/sanitizing measures after any use.
City Hall will remain open from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., but the door will be locked. The City will unlock the door in case of emergency, such as a loved one passing and a cemetery lot or grave needs to be purchased. Utility payments can be made by mail, through your bank, or put in the drop box at the south end of the building. All other City services will continue as usual as much as possible.
The City has tentatively scheduled the City’s FY2021 Budget Public Hearing for April 16, with the Regular Meeting also held on April 16, 2020. There will be no meeting held on April 2, 2020.
Golf Cart/ATV/UTV Permits will be issued beginning May 1, 2020.
These measures are to ensure City employees can continue to provide emergency and essential municipal services, and to protect Montrose citizens from the COVID-19 Virus as much as practicable. The City strongly encourages all residents to follow the guidelines provided by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Center for Disease Control.
