Partners releases updated schedule of events

The following is a release from Fort Madison Partners updating event scheduling during the coronavirus outbreak. It is published in it's entirety.


FORT MADISON - Governor Reynolds made the statement last week to extend the “Social Distancing” due to the COVID-19 pandemic until at least April 30th. “This announcement will effect a number of activities planned by our office that would have normally taken place”, states Tim Gobble, Fort Madison Partners Director. The events that have been cancelled, postponed or are still being decided are:
Legislative Luncheon: April 17th- Cancelled Community Clean-Up: April 22nd - requesting residents to clean up around their own blocks (using social distancing) during Earth Day. Chamber Facebook page has additional information Paint-a-thon: Postponed until June 22-27th Small Business Breakfast: May 7th- TBA Legislative Luncheon: May 15th- TBD Barley Hop Craft Beer Tasting Glass Pre-Sale: Postponed until July 24th Barley Hops Craft Beer Tasting Event: Postponed until July 31st
Please go to the Partners and Chamber Facebook pages for updated information pertaining to these events, COVID-19 and from our members. “Although we’re unable to visit with you in person right now, we want our businesses and our community to know that we are still here for them,” states Chamber Coordinator Savanna Collier, “and that they can contact us via email (chamber@fortmadison.com) or phone (319-372-5471) with questions or to chat.” “We encourage everyone to look for the restaurant listing we’ve been pushing”, Gobble continues, “As it is complete with phone numbers, hours and delivery/take out options.” Also, it is encouraged for all small businesses to keep their social media accounts current and continue to promote themselves as well as items in their stores. “Even though you may need to have your doors closed to the public, doesn’t mean you can’t still make sales based on the items you post- I’ve bought two items based on pictures posted”- stated Gobble.
Fort Madison Partners is the umbrella organization which oversees the Fort Madison Chamber of Commerce, Fort Madison Economic Development and Fort Madison SIRRC.
