LEE COUNTY - Lee County Health Department officials are asking county residents to continue to social distance for Easter holiday.

Easter is normally a time for families to gather for worship and fellowship. However, LCHD would like to remind communities that social distancing needs to continue during the holiday.

The Iowa Department of Public Health issued guidance for churches to conduct a drive-in worship. They ask that churches and people who attend do the following:

All persons attending the service must drive up in an enclosed vehicle and remain in that same vehicle during the entire service. Individuals cannot get out of their vehicle during the service for any reason.
All vehicle windows, sunroofs, and convertible tops must remain closed during the entire service.
No more than 10 people may be in a single vehicle. People in a single vehicle should be limited to members of the same household who have already been in close contact with each other and are not sick.
No food, beverages, communion, or other materials should be distributed before, after, or as part of the service.
Offering should not be collected by ushers going vehicle-to-vehicle or other method that requires in-person interaction. A drop-box while vehicles are leaving the service would the safest manner. Accepting online donations is the best practice.

Iowans need to continue to follow mitigation guidelines:

Stay home as much as possible, if you leave for essentials try to send only one person.
Use social distancing – keep 6 feet away or more from others.
Avoid group gatherings (Governor Reynold’s order includes no more than 10 people)
If ill stay home and isolate yourself from others. Call your doctor FIRST if you need medical attention.
Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with soap and warm water.
Disinfect common touch surfaces
Cover coughs & sneezes and wash your hands again.
