FORT MADISON - Library employees are working together with the Fort Madison Library Board and the city to put into place new policies and procedures to resume operations safely for both patrons and library workers.

Library Director Sarah Clendineng said there are no plans to open on Friday, May 1st, despite Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds allowing libraries to open their doors around the state.

"However, we hope to begin a phased process of reopening soon and will keep you updated as we are able to offer more services. In the meantime, we are continuing to offer curbside pick-up of library materials and expanded access to our online resources with Digital Access Cards." Clendineng said.

Call the library, 319-372-5721, to request books or information or sign up for a digital card atwww.FortMadisonLibrary.org.
