Posted

Reggie Ray Brannon of Montrose went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 17th, 2020 due to complications following esophageal cancer at the age of 65.
He was born on March 27, 1955 in Fort Madison, IA. Preceding him in death are his parents, Vernon and Darlene Reuther Brannon and brother, Rodney Brannon. Reggie will be missed and loved by his surviving two daughters; Renell Brannon McCoy of Humble, TX, and Kate Brannon Munson of Nampa, ID. Reggie is also survived by five grandchildren. Levi, Kaden, and Rhilynn of Atascocita (TX) and Anthony Malson and Axl Munson of Nampa (ID). Also surviving Reggie are his two sisters Melody Boatner and his nephew Brannon “Bubba” Boatner of Keokuk, and Renee Brannon of Fort Madison, and his niece Shelby Turner.

After a brief stint in the Army, Reggie married Carrie Wickham and had his first daughter, Renell. He later divorced and remarried Lynn Honneck before having his second daughter Kate. He was employed at Asplundh and Davey Tree Service.
Being born and raised in Southeast Iowa, it was the perfect place for Reggie to cultivate his love for the outdoors; especially mushroom hunting, riding his motorcycle, and fishing. He grew up with the Mississippi in his backyard spending much of his time on the river. He looked forward to sharing his love of fishing with his grandchildren when they had the opportunity to visit. Reggie was also an avid Indian artifact collector, but he will certainly be remembered by many as a man who enjoyed pulling clever pranks, some of which were quite humorous.
The family hopes to announce in mid June a date for a Celebration of Life to be held at his home.
