Graham earns PEO scholarship

FORT MADISON - Holy Trinity Catholic senior Claire Graham was presented the P.E.O. Nancy Wagner Memorial Scholarship Award.

Graham is the daughter of Brian and Brenda Graham of Fort Madison and will attend the University of Iowa this fall. She plans to study English

The PEO scholarship is a $2,500 award based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success. The program is open to young women who are citizens of legal permanent residents of the United States or Canada and who are graduating high school seniors.

The P.E.O. Sisterhood was founding in 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant and is an international philanthropic and educational organization which promotes increased educational opportunities for women. The sisterhood has proved more than $321 million in financial assistance to more than 100,000 recipients.
