Krogmeiers help land donation to food pantry

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison Food Pantry just received a new, industrial-grade, reach-in refrigerator thanks to a Community Relief Grant submitted by local dairy farmers Ralph and Colleen Krogmeier.
Midwest Dairy, an organization representing 6,500 hard-working dairy farm families throughout the Midwest, set up the relief grant.

"The Krogmeier’s read about the grant opportunity, thought of us, submitted the grant application, “and, much to our delight, it was approved!," said Lin Cramer, the pantry's board president.

"This new refrigerator makes it possible for the Pantry to partner with Prairie Farms and the Food Bank of Iowa to provide milk on-site to its clients."

The Krogmeiers own Hinterland Dairy at 2149 Franklin Road in Donnellson. They produce their own line of cheese products and produce milk for Prairie Farms.
