Auditor to hold Saturday curbside voting May 30

LEE COUNTY - Denise Fraise, Lee County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections announced that the Auditor’s Office will be open on Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the purpose of casting an absentee ballot for the June 2, 2020 Primary Election.
Voters who wish to vote by absentee ballot for the Primary Election may cast a ballot from your car in the alley behind the Auditor’s Office at 933 Ave H. Fort Madison or in the parking lot behind the Courthouse at 25 N. 7th St. Keokuk. They may also cast a ballot until 5 p.m. June 1st.
The deadline to pre-register to vote for this election is 5 p.m. on Friday. After that day, a person may register to vote at the auditor’s office and vote an absentee ballot. The process is the same as for registering on Election Day. A new registrant must provide acceptable proof of identity and current residence in the precinct. Voters choosing this option should plan to take a few extra minutes for the transaction.

Regular office hours for the Auditor’s Office are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The hours at the South Lee County Courthouse at 25 N. 7th St. Keokuk are from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
