Randy Keith Boltz, 53, of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at UnityPoint Health in Keokuk.
He was born on November 30, 1966 at St. Joseph Hospital in Keokuk, IA, the son of Robert and Kathleen Washburn Boltz. He graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1986.
He had been employed at Henniges in Keokuk for over 20 years.
Randy was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk. He was also a member of the Local 444 UAW Labor Union and the Rough Riders Rodeo Club.
Randy was an excellent horseman and loved riding and training horses. He enjoyed photography and taking pictures of landscapes, his pets and family. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his common-law wife of fourteen years, Christine Hatfield, of Keokuk, two daughters, Randi Helenthal of Keokuk and Vanessa Gray (Britten) of Kahoka, MO, one son, Brandon Boltz (Corey) of San Antonio, TX, one step-son, John Melcher of Keokuk and one step-daughter, Jennifer Melcher of New London, IA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Lane, Izaak and Mallie Gray, Bentley Melcher, Camden McCredie and John Patrick Wheeler, his parents, Robert and Kathleen Boltz of Keokuk, three brothers, Robert Boltz of Quincy, IL, Roy Boltz (Janet) of Kahoka, MO and John Boltz of Keokuk, two sisters, Theresia Harmon (Jim) and Tammy High (Keith) all of Keokuk and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 9 a.m .– 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions on mass gatherings there will be a limit of ten people in the funeral home at one time with social distancing guidelines in effect. Those who attend are encouraged to wear a mask if possible. Be prepared to wait outside or in your cars if there are ten people in the funeral home when you arrive.
A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Mound Cemetery in rural Keokuk.
Memorials may be made to his son, Brandon Boltz for expenses.
