FORT MADISON - Due to the current pandemic situation, the FMAAA Board members have decided to cancel this year’s Expressions Art Auction.

Brian Riggs, Executive Director, and the Board of Directors had originally hoped that the annual auction event could be postponed, but the feasibility of staging the event with the present concerns for social distancing and food service has seemed increasingly doubtful.

Rather, the FMAAA will focus on an expanded Expressions 2021, which will also celebrate the 40thanniversary of the Fort Madison Area Artists’ Association. The event will include a brief presentation of the four decades-long history, which will honor the founders and their art as well as additional musical and media presentations.

The organization members hope that the artists and patrons of this region will look forward to enjoying this Spring Expressions 2021 event. Public support is crucial to the survival of the art center and to the continuation of artistic experiences for artists and art lovers of all ages.

As the FMAAA responds to the current challenges, the Board and Executive Director want to express their sincere appreciation to the community for its ongoing support, both in contributions and in participation of the center’s programs.
