Earl Edward DePew, Jr., 68, of Farmington, IA, died Wednesday May 20, 2020 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born on August 18, 1951 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Earl and Wanda Cunningham DePew. He graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1969.
Earl was a veteran on the United States Army. He served his country during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany with his brother John.

On September 14, 1995, Earl was united in marriage to Sandra Whiteside in Keokuk. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2007.
Earl first worked at Daniels Chevrolet Body Shop in Kahoka, MO. He later was employed at Sheller Globe/Henniges in Keokuk for forty years.
Earl was a member of the UAW Labor Union.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching TV shows about fixing cars. He loved watching NASCAR races and in his younger years he participated in drag races at the Lee County Dragstrip. He also enjoyed working on his friend, Corky’s, farm where he helped with the livestock and harvesting crops.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Stefanie Kay Westercamp (Roy Dean) of Mt. Sterling, IA, his step-son, Benjamin Scott Taylor (Carla) of Farmington, IA, four step-grandchildren, Aaron Noel Westercamp, Allison Nicole Taylor, Mackenzie Janae Taylor and Brandon Edward Taylor, two brothers, Ronnie Keith DePew and Kelly DePew both of Harrisburg, IL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, John F. DePew and Donald R. DePew.
A Gathering of Remembrance will be held from 2 – 4 pm on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions on mass gatherings there will be a limit of ten people in the funeral home at one time with social distancing guidelines in effect. Those who attend are encouraged to wear a mask if possible. Be prepared to wait outside or in your cars if there are ten people in the funeral home when you arrive.
Memorials may be made for his grandchildren’s education fund.
