Margaret Joy Vice, 96 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 8:37 pm Sunday, May 31, 2020.  She was born October 16, 1923 in Fort Madison, Iowa, a daughter of William A. and Nora Hazel (Nye) Bye.  On February 2, 1946, she married Thomas W. “Tuff” Vice in Fort Madison.  He preceded her in death on September 8, 2002.

She was a lifelong resident of the area.  She worked at Winegard in Burlington, Iowa for 25 years.  She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by seven sons: Larry (Margaret) Bye of Hannibal, Missouri; Dan (Joni) Vice of Fort Madison; Don (Wendy) Vice of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Ron (Jenny) Vice of Des Moines, Iowa; Mike (Jeannie) Vice of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Rick (Sherri) Vice of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mark (Kim) Vice of Fort Madison; one brother, Gary Bye of Cedar Rapids; 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Robert Bye, and two sisters, Hope Spray and Maxine West.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, with the family greeting friends from 5:30 - 6:30 pm Wednesday evening.   A private Funeral Service will be held the following day at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Ken Barlow officiating.  Burial will be at Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.  A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Vice family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
