Task force makes three county drug arrests

LEE COUNTY - The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrests of three Lee County residents on separate misdemeanor and felony drug charges.

Jeremy Gillette, 19, of Fort Madison, Iowa was arrested on June 8, in the 1200 block of Avenue H in Fort Madison and was charged with possession of marijuana a serious misdemeanor; unlawful possession of prescription pills a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
The arrest of Gillette stems from a proactive enforcement project conducted in Fort Madison by the Lee County G.H.O.S.T. and Lee County Narcotics Task Force.

The Task Force also nabbed a Keokuk man and woman on drug charges.

Justin Lovell, 35, of Keokuk, Iowa was arrested on June 10th, in the 2300 block of Main St. in Keokuk. Lovell is charged with one count of delivery of methamphetamine less than 5 grams a class C felony; one count of aiding and abetting delivery of methamphetamine less than 5 grams a class C felony; one count of aiding and abetting delivery of methamphetamine less than 5 grams within 1,000 feet of a public school, a class C felony; possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine a serious misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Jill Sale, 31, of Keokuk, Iowa was also arrested on June 10th, 2020 in the 2300 block of Main St. in Keokuk, Iowa. Sale is charged with one count of delivery of methamphetamine less than 5 grams a class C felony; one count of delivery of methamphetamine less than 5 grams within 1,000 feet of a public school a class C felony; possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine a serious misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia a simple misdemeanor.
The arrests of Lovell and Sale stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that she was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the Lee County area.

The Keokuk Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Attorney’s Office, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
