FM's Scholl to lead At-Risk program in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS - The College Community School District has named Angela Scholl as its new Director of At-Risk Programming and Prairie Delta Site Administrator effective July 1, 2020 pending School Board approval. Scholl replaces Ian Dye who was recently named the new Principal at Prairie Point Middle School.

Prairie Delta is an extension of Prairie High School located on the Kirkwood Community College campus. The program serves students in grades 9-12 in the College Community School District that seek a smaller learning environment than can be found in a traditional high school setting.

“Angie is a wonderful addition to Delta, to our administrative team, and to our school district,” said Laura Medberry, Executive Director of Learning Supports. “She is excited to focus on supporting the students, staff, and families of Prairie Delta in the year ahead and to carry on the vision of creating flexible, responsive programming that meets the needs of our students.”

Scholl, who is in her 27th year in education, currently serves as the Dean of Students/Director of Student Services at Maquoketa Middle School in Maquoketa, Iowa. Prior to Maquoketa, Scholl served 16 years as an At-Risk Teacher/Program Facilitator and science teacher for the Keokuk Community School and 9 years as middle school science teacher for Glenwood Middle School in Chatham, IL.

Scholl, a native of Fort Madison, Iowa, earned both her Bachelors and Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Western Illinois University and her administrative licensure from Viterbo University.

“I am excited to be joining the College Community School District as the Director of At-Risk Programming and Delta Site Administrator,” said Scholl. “It is an honor and a privilege to become part of a district that has a reputation of being innovative and student-centered. I have spent most of my career working with students and their families who desire an alternative approach to education. I look forward to building lasting relationships and becomingan integral part of the team at Prairie.”
