Carolina M. Mendez, 92, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at The Madison. She was born on March 10, 1928 in Fort Madison, IA to Vincent & Maria Vasquez Mendez. She worked at the Sheaffer Pen Company, retiring after 45 years of service. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Altar & Rosary Society and enjoyed family get togethers.
Carolina is survived by: 5-brothers: Eusebio “Abie” (Julia) Mendez, Johnny Mendez, Eddie (Mary) Mendez & Roger Mendez all of Fort Madison, IA & Jerry (Irene) Mendez of Livermore, CA; 3-sisters: Rufina Martinez & Sally (Santiago) Hernandez of Fort Madison, IA & Anna (John) Luna of Galesburg, IL. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 2-sisters: Eustolia & Juanita & 3-brothers: Aurelio, Lupe & Ruben.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A private family rosary will be recited and a private family graveside service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Social distancing rules will apply. A memorial has been established for Sacred Heart Church.
