FORT MADISON - Lee County officials have done away with any walk-in service at the county's treasurer's office, despite a decision last week to require appointments only for driver's license services.

But on Wednesday, officials released a statement saying the treasurer's department would only take customers by appointment only going forward.

The release is below in it's entirety.

"In order to serve the public in a more efficient way, the Lee County Treasurer’s Office is switching it’s format to appointment only. You may make an appointment by calling 319-372-3405. Office hours are 8:30 – 3:30. Masks are required.
