Keokuk man nabbed for delivering meth

LEE COUNTY - The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of a Keokuk man on felony and misdemeanor charges.

Todd Spurgeon, 45, of Keokuk, Iowa was arrested on August 3rd, 2020 in the 2600 Block Main St. in Keokuk, Iowa. Spurgeon is charged with a warrant for Violation of Probation; Delivery of Methamphetamine less than 5 grams 2nd Offense a Class C Felony; Possession of Controlled Substance a Serious Misdemeanor; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a Simple Misdemeanor and Providing False Identification to Law Enforcement a Simple Misdemeanor.

SPURGEON

The arrest of Spurgeon stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that he was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the Lee County area. Keokuk Police Department arrested Spurgeon after receiving a report of a suspicious person in the area.

The Keokuk Police Department, Lee County Attorney’s Office, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
