J.D. Wyatt, Jr., 27 of Ankeny, IA, formerly of Keokuk, IA died Monday, August 3, 2020 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.
He was born July 7, 1993 in Lakeland, FL the son of John Dale and Jeri Moore Wyatt. He graduated from Central Lee High School with the Class of 2012. He then furthered his education and attended Southeastern Community College in Keokuk where he received his Associates degree.
J.D. was a veteran of the Iowa National Guard and proudly served his country for eight years.

On September 9, 2017 he was united in marriage to Jaclyn Gilpin at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk.
He is survived by his wife, Jaclyn of Ankeny, IA, his mother, Jeri Duncan (Tony) of Galesburg, IL, his father, John D. Wyatt (Tracy) of Keokuk, siblings, Paige Vermazen (Kyler) of MO, Cody McClain of Davenport, IA, Grant Duncan of Quincy, IL and Allyson Duncan of MO. He is also survived by his grandfather, Richard Moore of Hamilton, IL, great-grandmother, Marjorie Cossel of Montrose, IA, great-grandmother, Elizabeth O’Conner of Hamilton, IL and one amazing niece, Wynona Vermazen.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dale Wyatt, great-grandfather, Cecil Cossel, Jr., grandmothers, Joyce Wyatt and Jana Moore and one sister, Verna Nelson.
J.D. was a member of Melrose Methodist Church in Argyle, IA.
He had been employed by True Green as a lawn technician.
J.D. enjoyed playing Pokemon and was an avid gamer. He loved animals, spending time with his family and always made people smile.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. Burial with military rites will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in rural Keokuk.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12-2 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time. The family requests everyone come in casual and comfortable dress as J.D. would have liked.
Social distancing requirements will be in place at both the visitation and the funeral service and attendees may be limited according to those requirements. Masks are strongly encouraged.
