Schmitz named FMCH top employee for June

Posted

FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Community Hospital recognized Kent Schmitz as their June Employee of the Month. Kent is a nurse in the FMCH Clinics. He has been with FMCH for twelve years. He was recognized with this nomination:
This employee is long overdue for recognition as an incredible asset to our department! He exhibits a respectful demeanor with all of his patients and fellow staff each day. I’ve witnessed on many occasions him taking time to provide more than the required attention to our patients. For example, he took it upon himself to join a fellow veteran in the cafeteria routinely for breakfast, offering companionship and setting the standard for commitment to impacting our community is a positive way. This employee takes his role at FMCH very seriously and demonstrates high standards of practice. He has taken ownership in the success of his provider and patient population and takes challenges with stride. His calm demeanor is appreciated and well respected by those around him. It is members of our team here at FMCH like him that make us valuable to and respected by our small community.
“I love working at FMCH because of the family atmosphere,” expressed Schmitz. “Katie Sciumbato has been instrumental in my career at FMCH.”
When not at work, Kent enjoys spending time with his wife, their seven children and watching the Chicago Cubs.
