Lee County Dems collecting relief supplies for storm ravaged Cedar Rapids

LEE COUNTY - The Lee County Iowa Democratic Party is collecting relief supplies for both the clean-up workers and for families displaced by the derecho winds and rain Monday, August 10th in Cedar Rapids.

The Lee County Democrats encourage all Lee County and area residents to join with them to help those in need after the devastating storms. Supplies may be left at the campaign headquarters of the Lee County Democratic Party, at 3437 Main Street, Keokuk, Monday – Friday 10:30am-noon, 1-5:00pm, and 821 Avenue G, Fort Madison, 4-7:00pm Wednesday-Friday and 9:00am-noon on Saturday. Please deliver your supplies to the Keokuk office by 5:00pm on Friday and by 11:00am on Saturday to the Fort Madison office. The collected supplies will be distributed by a Cedar Rapids church working closely with the community relief efforts.

Suggested items for donation:  bottled water, Gatorade or Powerade, non-perishable hand held foods (protein bars, chips, trail mix, etc.), work gloves, coolers, rags/towels,  Caseys or HyVee cards in $10 increments for ice and gas, cleaning supplies, toiletries including toilet paper, any nonperishable foods including canned goods, etc., paper plates, napkins, cups, and cutlery, crockpots, hotplates, flashlights, batteries, diapers, baby wipes, formula, feminine hygiene products, tents/tarps.
