FMHS freshman win two at Keokuk tourney

KEOKUK - The Fort Madison freshman went 2-1 over the weekend at the Mt. Pleasant tournament against Keokuk, Mt. Pleasant, and Davis County.

Aija Jenkins went 14-14 in serving with 8 aces. Lauryn Helmick had 11 aces and was 32-37 serving. Ali Carson was 26-29 serving with 7 aces. Jenkins was 8-9 hitting with 7 kills. Helmick was 12-15 hitting with 7 kills and Elle Ruble was 14-16 hitting with 9 kills. Madelyn Gobble had 3 blocks.

The Hounds lost to Davis County, but secured wins over Mt. Pleasant and Keokuk.

The freshman are set to play on Monday in a freshman/jayvee/varsity match at Holy Trinity Catholic starting at 5 p.m.
