Central Lee falls in tiebreaker to WACO

DONNELLSON - Central Lee battled to a 2-2 tie with visiting WACO Tuesday night but suffered an 11-15 loss in the tiebreaker set to fall to the Lady Warriors.

The Lady Hawks (5-4) won the first set 25-23, then lost two straight by 10-25 and 24-26 scores, before rebounding with a 24-26 win in the fourth set forcing the tiebreaker.

Mya Merschman had 17 kills, five blocks, an ace and 10 digs to lead Central Lee. Meghan Hopp had 10 kills, six blocks, and 12 digs. Macy Watkins had six kills, seven blocks, 15 assists, and nine digs to go along with Abby Wellman's six kills, three blocks, two aces and 12 digs.

Makayla Morrison had three kills, a block, an ace and 11 digs. Zoe Eschman had 20 assists and 17 digs.

WACO is now 11-1 on the year and has one it's last nine matches in a row.

Central Lee has the next three days off before heading to the Keokuk Tournament this weekend.
