Letter to the Editor - The Kensington celebrates National Assisted Living Week

Posted

Dear Editor:
Due to COVID-19, current social distancing rules and the inability of friends and family to enter communities such as The Kensington has changed much of the day-to-day life for those who live and work in our community.
Our dedicated staff continue to play a critical role in caring for residents in senior living and are proud to serve those in our care. That is why this week, The Kensington is proud to celebrate National Assisted Living Week® and its theme “Caring is Essential.” It highlights the incredible care provided by essential caregivers in assisted living facilities. It is a way to
celebrate the dedication of staff, the individuality of residents, and the deep connections formed in these settings.
Extra activities will be held to celebrate the week including a raffle for a beautiful lap quilt, a birthday celebration for a resident turning 90 years old, and special treats including pie and ice cream. Residents of The Kensington always enjoy a wide variety of life enriching activities
including themed activities and dress up days, games, fitness, religious services and much more.
The staff of The Kensington are honored to help our residents stay connected to their friends and family, while adhering to COVID-19 safety requirements and precautions. Here, we work diligently to keep residents not only safe and healthy but engaged, active, and happy. With their own families unable to physically be beside them and visit with them as they usually would, our company’s vision to “treat people like family” is more important now than ever before.
Thank you to our staff, residents and all of the extended Kensington family both near and far. We couldn’t do it without your support and are excited to celebrate National Assisted Living Week® with you!
Sincerely,
Leia Morrison
