In-person absentee voting begins Oct. 5 in county

LEE COUNTY - Lee County Auditor Denise Fraise announces that in-person absentee voting will begin October 5th at locations in Fort Madison and Keokuk. Mail ballots will be sent that day.
In Fort Madison, in person voting will be available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Administrative Building located at 933 Avenue H. Masks and social distancing are required. Enter on the East side of the building. There will be a guard to take your temperature and administer COVID symptom questions. You will exit through the front door on Avenue H.
In Keokuk, in person voting will be available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Courthouse located at 25 N. 7th Street. Masks and social distancing are required. Only the door on 7th Street will be open. There will be a guard to take your temperature and administer COVID symptom questions.
Identification is required for voting. Please bring one of the following with you:
Iowa Voter Identification Card
Iowa Driver’s License
Iowa Non-Operator ID
U.S. Military ID or Veteran ID
U.S. Passport
Tribal ID Card/Document
Curbside voting will be available to those wishing to vote from their car. In Fort Madison, interested voters should drive to the back of the building, via the alley starting on 9th Street. Voters should then call 319-372-3705 to inform the staff in the Auditors Office. In Keokuk, voters should call 319-526-8592.
If you have requested a ballot to be mailed to you, those will be mailed on October 5th.
