Sandra K. Sutton, 75, of Dallas City, Illinois died Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.
She was born May 17, 1945 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Ross W. and A. LaVerne Callahan Parsons. She married Cleon R. Knoedler on March 5, 1963. He died August 31, 1963. She then married Michael Lenix on August 14, 1966. They later divorced. On August 5, 1979 she married James A. Sutton in Dallas City. He died July 24, 2008.
Sandra graduated from LaHarpe, Illinois High School in 1963. She then attended Burlington Beauty & Barber School, graduating in 1966. She owned and operated Sandi’s Beauty Salon in Dallas City for 40 years, retiring in 2003. She also tended bar in Burlington, Fort Madison and in Dallas City at both the Riverview Supper Club and Ruthie’s Place.
Sandi enjoyed working in her yard, art and paintings, animals and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.
She is survived by her children, Ronnie Ray (Stephanie) Knoedler of Wright City, Missouri, Michael Jay (Laura) Lenix of Wentzville, Missouri and Rachelle Don (Mark) Shuler of Hamilton, Illinois, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her cat Echo.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents,and one brother, Ross B. Parsons.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Rev. Jim Luder officiating. All attendees are asked to wear their Cubs and Bears attire. Burial will follow in McConnell Cemetery near Fountain Green, Illinois. There will be no formal family visitation but friends are welcome to stop at the funeral home on Monday between 3:00 and 7:00p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the McConnell Cemetery or the Dallas City Veterans Memorial.
