Central Lee girls down Burlington Notre Dame in four sets

BURLINGTON - The Central Lee Hawks took three of four sets in a win Tuesday night over Burlington Notre Dame in Southeast Iowa Superconference volleyball action.

Senior Mya Merschman had 16 kills and 10 blocks to lead Central Lee (2-3, 17-6). She has 218 kills on the year, which leads the Southeast Iowa Superconference North and South divisions, and is fifth in the state in Class 3A seven head of West Burlington's Sydney Marlow.

Abby Wellman had 10 kills and was a perfect 10 of 10 serving in the win with one ace. Makayla Morrison was 22 of 22 at the service line and had 16 digs. Zoe Eschman had 22 digs and Macy Watkins led Central Lee with 40 assists.

The Lady Hawks travel to Eldon to take on Cardinal (0-4, 7-9) on Thursday.
