Betty Bernice Biddenstadt, 91 of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at River Hills Village in Keokuk.

     She was born July 16, 1929 in Farmington, IA the daughter of William Edgar and Bertha Irene Doud Parke.  

     On June 4, 1950 she was united in marriage to Richard Biddenstadt in Keokuk.  He preceded her in death on February 28, 2007.

     Betty graduated from Farmington High School with the Class of 1948.  She furthered her educated at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA and graduated with a teaching degree.

     Betty was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk.

     Over the years, Betty had taught school, worked at Schlotter’s Greenhouse in Keokuk and was the co-owner and operator of Rich’s Country Store and Rich’s Welding Shop.

     Betty enjoyed cooking, country music and crafts.  She had a special love for flowers, and had made beautiful wreaths and also made floral arrangements for several weddings. Betty also loved birds, especially penguins.  

     She is survived by one son, Dennis B. Biddenstadt (Linda) of Independence, IA, one daughter, Nancy B. Stephenson of Keokuk, four grandchildren, Paul Stephenson of Keokuk, Peter Biddenstadt (Emily) of Ft. Madison, IA, Sarah Barnes (Brandon) of West Point, IA and Megan Weber (Marshall) of Toddville, IA, eight great-grandchildren, Aria Stephenson of Keokuk, Margaret and Archer Biddenstadt both of Ft. Madison, IA, Sterling, Spencer and Cooper Barnes all of West Point, IA and Lilly and Emmy Weber both of Toddville, IA, one brother, Richard Parke (Peggy) of Shellsburg, IA and many nieces and nephews.

     Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Sandra Forde and Patricia Wagner and one brother, Roger Parke. 

     A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Milo VanVeldhuizen officiating.  Burial will be in in Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk.

     Visitation will be after 1 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home with family meeting with friends from 4-6 p.m. Social distancing requirements will be in place and masks are strongly encouraged.
