KEOSAUQUA - Van Buren had no answer for Central Lee's Dylan Stuecker as the senior alone almost outscored the Warriors in the Hawks 70-25 win Tuesday night at Van Buren.

Stuecker hit seven three pointers all in the first half to lead Central Lee with 22 points in the Hawks' first game of the year to highlight Southeast Iowa Superconference action.

Central rushed out to a 15-7 first quarter lead and then Stuecker went to work hitting five long balls to stretch the Hawks lead to 33-14 on the way to a 40-19 lead at the end of the first half.

Van Buren would only muster six points total in the second half and only had three players score in the game as Central Lee ran away in the half.

Senior Jaxon Betker and Alex Sandoval found shooting lanes with Stuecker getting all the attention in the second half. The two combined for 19 second half points, 15 from long range.

Kade Myhre added nine in the second half, six in the third quarter to finish with 13 on the night. Betker had 19 for Central. Sandoval scored six, while Kaleb Sanders and Bronson Sargent each had five for the Hawks.

Jackson Manning led Van Buren with 14.

Central Lee is off until Friday when West Burlington comes to Central Lee High School for a girls/boys double header.
