Lee County COVID rate back over 20%

Seven-day positivity rating is 4th highest in the state.

LEE COUNTY - The 14-day positivity rate for Lee County has increased more than 5% in the past two days and now stands at 21.5%

With Thursday's daily report from the Lee County Health Department, 118 more positive tests came back in the 24-hour period beginning 3:30 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 2.

Over the past seven days the county is carrying a 24% positivity rating with 1 in 4 tests coming back positive. That rate is 4th highest in the state as of Thursday at 5 p.m.

The county has seen 292 new cases in the past week, according to the Iowa Coronavirus website at coronavirus.iowa.gov. The site is now including maps that provides data on the 14-day trends and a 7-day trend.

The age group 30-39 has the highest positivity rating for the past seven days at 22%. Forty to 49 is at 19% and 50 to 59 is at 17% the highest three groupings. Children ages 0-17 are just 5% of the new cases.

Over the past 14 days, the 30-39 age group is at 20% and 50-59 grouping is second highest at 19%.

Statewide the positivity rate for the past 14 days is 21.4% and over the last seven days that number is 24.3%.

The state has 2,522 deaths and 17 of those were Lee County residents. On Dec. 1, the State Hygenic Lab processed the highest number of single day positive tests for Lee County at 174. The previous high was 102 on Nov. 9.

The state has tested 2.5 million residents with an overall positivity rating of 11.7% with 256,779 individual testing positive. Lee County has had 2,280 positive tests overall.
