Kathryne R. “Kay” Jeffries, 100 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Sunday, December 6, 2020 at The Kensington, Fort Madison.  She was born August 21, 1920 at Streator, Illinois, a daughter of James and Victorine (Schumacher) Francis.

On July 21, 1946, she married James Jeffries at Streator, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on June 23, 1967.

Kay worked at Sheaffer Pen Company, retiring in 1985.  She was a member of Holy Family Parish and Catholic Ladies Auxiliary.  She played bingo and cards with several different groups. 

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carol Jeffries of Fort Madison; three grandchildren: Nick (Michelle) Jeffries, Joni (Shane) Manning, and Melissa Jeffries; six great grandchildren: Isabella, Eliana, and Branz Manning and Avery, Harper, and Emerson Jeffries and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Kevin Jeffries and Jay Jeffries, three brothers: Paul, Jimmy and Leo and one sister, Virginia Hornick.    

Private Catholic Committal services and burial will be at Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Jeffries family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
