FORT MADISON – Leighton Rockhold fired in 17 points to lead Fort Madison’s junior varsity boys team to a 54-43 win over Keokuk Monday night at the Hound Dome.
The two teams battled to a 12-12 tie in the first quarter and Keokuk took a brief 14-21 win in the second, but the Hounds would outscore the Chiefs 18-5 in the second quarter to take command with a 30-19 halftime lead.
Keokuk would cut the lead to six at 37-31 and then to four at 39-35 in the fourth quarter. Fort Madison would then put together another late run to put the game away racing past Keokuk 15-8 the rest of the way.
Nathan Wiggins chipped in with 14 points, while Kane Williams added seven in the win.
