Mary Louise Calfee, 87 of Montrose, IA died Monday, December 7, 2020 at The Madison in Ft. Madison, IA.  

     She was born May 10, 1933 in Clark County, MO the daughter of John Conrad and Stella Wright Kirchner.  Mary graduated from Kahoka High School in Kahoka, MO.

     On January 9, 1956 she was united in marriage to Richard Joseph Calfee in St. Louis, MO.  He preceded her in death on November 6, 1992.

     Mary had been employed by Hoerner Box Company in Keokuk.  Mary and her husband owned and operated a poultry processing operation and later owned and operated the Calfee 66 Station in Argyle, IA.    

     Mary enjoyed antiquing, going to auctions with her husband and going to yard sales.  She also enjoyed having yard sales of her own.  She loved to cook and made wonderful meals for her family and friends.  Mary crocheted many baby blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren through the years.  After Richard retired, they enjoyed traveling out west and visiting the casinos.  

     She is survived by two sons, Richard Calfee, Jr., (Debi) of New River, AZ and Ricky Calfee (Debbie) of Montrose, IA, six grandchildren, Derick Calfee (Mary), Trevor Calfee (Megan),  Dillon Calfee (Kassondra), Denton Calfee, Jason Calfee (Lindsay Kelly) and Tara Calfee, eight great-grandchildren, Kayden and Kolt Calfee and their mother, Jessica Johnston, Kennedy Calfee,  Kyra Calfee, Ayden Calfee, Colton Calfee, Brayson Calfee,  and Tatum Calfee, one sister-in-law, Janice Kirchner and two nieces, Stella and Janet.

     Besides her husband, Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ronnie L. Calfee, daughter-in-law, Tammy Calfee, one brother, Junior Kirchner and one nephew, Steve Kirchner. 

     A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose, IA with Pastor David Turner officiating.  Friends may come to Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk from 1-8 p.m., Friday, to sign the register book and view Mary.  The family will not be present.   Social distancing requirements will be in place and masks are required at the funeral home and cemetery.
