FORT MADISON - Central Lee's Mya Merschman put up 50 of the Hawks 68 points in a 68-41 win over New London on Tuesday night.

The performance reset her own previous mark of 42 set a couple weeks ago at Danville. Now Merschman stands in 3rd place in the state in points scored with 219.

She trails Van Buren's Isabel Manning who has 233 and West Monroe's Mallory McCall with 223. Merschman leads the state in Class 3A, more than 50 points ahead of anyone else.

Central Lee got 11 points from Makayla Morrison, eight in the first half as the Lady Hawks opened up a 14-5 first quarter advantage and pushed that lead to 38-13 at the half.

Aside from Mya Lampe's 3-ball in the final minute, Merschman accounted for all of the Hawk's points in the final quarter as they opened up leads as big as 25 points down the stretch.

Lampe finished with three, while Macy Watkins and Ella Sanders each had two points.

The Hawks move over .500 again at 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the conference with the win. They are off for the holiday and resume play on Jan. 5 at WACO.

New London (2-7, 1-6) was led by Marah Hartrick with 17.
