Laura M. Glidewell,80 of Ft. Madison passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 9 AM at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital.

   She was born on August 18, 1940 in Bloomington, IL to Charles and Virginia Clark Varboncoeur. On October 20, 1984 she married Jimmie G. Glidewell in Carthage, IL.  She was a buyer for Fruehauf and retired after twenty years of service.  Laura loved to dance and was a member of the Silver Steppers and Red Hat Society.  She also enjoyed cooking.  Her greatest love of all was her family and taking care of them. 

   Survivors include her husband, Jim Glidewell of Ft. Madison; two sons, Robert (Tina) Brown of Kansas City, MO and Brad (Angelina) Glidewell of Camdenton, MO; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Ginger.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Rick, Charles “Tony” and Perry Brown and a brother, Charles Ray Varboncoeur.  

   Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  The family will have a celebration of life in the spring and burial will be in Soldiers’ Circle, Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established for PAW Animal Shelter or Lee County Relay for Life and may be mailed to Jim at 4119 Avenue L, Ft.
