HTC junior high boys sweep WMU

FORT MADISON - Luke Hellige poured in 23 points to lead the Crusaders 8th grade boys to a 46-33 win over Winfield Mt. Union Thursday night.

Adam Sobczak added 15 as HTC shook off a 15-15 tie midway through the second quarter and went on a 13-4 run for a 28-19 halftime lead with Hellige putting up eight in the run.

Mason Kruse had six and Tate Green had a bucket in the win.

The seventh graders also won 37-32. Nathan Box had 16 points and Layne Rung had 13 in the win.

CENTRAL LEE BOYS SPLIT

DANVILLE -Danville rolled past Central Lee 36-12 in eighth grade boys action Thursday, but the Hawk 7th graders won 33-18 behind Will Hayes' 11 points and seven boards.

Brant Kraciun had nine points and four rebounds in the win. Owen Swan and six boards, three points and three assists in for the 7th graders.

For the eighth graders, Brayden Wyrick had six points, while Chase Johnson had four in the loss.

HTC JUNIOR VARSITY GIRLS WIN TWO

MT. PLEASANT - Abby Holtkamp scored 13 in a 52-12 HTC win over Mt. Pleasant on Monday night. Natalie Randolph, Reagan Holvoet and Mary Kate Bendlage each had eight points in the win. Mary Hellige had seven.

On Tuesday HTC rolled WACO 39-10 with Hellige leading with way at 13 points. Jenna DiPrima had 8, Alexa Dingman socred seven and Holvoet added six.
