Leon “Nick” Sieren, 72, of Ft. Madison, formerly of the Hedrick-Ottumwa area, died at 9:05 p.m. January 12, 2021 at his home.
He was born January 24, 1948 in Ottumwa to Harvey and Martha Douglas Sieren. He married Dana Peters October 4, 1969.
A 1966 graduate of Hedrick High School, Nick had been a safety monitor at Excel in Ottumwa, retiring in 2010.
Surviving is his wife, Dana; their children, Brian Allen (Mindi) Sieren of Schleswig, and Janelle (Bill) Cresswell of Ft. Madison; 4 grandchildren, Brenden and Avery Sieren and Hunter and Kaleb Cresswell; 3 brothers, Rodney, Russell and Chris Sieren, all of Hedrick; and 2 sisters, Connie Estle of Fairfield and Roxanne Denner of Oskaloosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew and a niece.
His body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time. Private inurnment will take place in Brooks Cemetery in Hedrick.
