Four qualify for youth state wrestling meet
LEE COUNTY - Four area youth wrestlers qualified for the state wrestling tournament set for Feb. 26th and 27th at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
In the 5th and 6th grade division. Wyatt Day took first place in the qualifying event and Beau Wagner took 4th, both advancing to Des Moines. James Fuller and Ren Watson just missed qualifying with 5th place finishes.
In the 7th and 8th grade division. Logan Pennock took first place and Gavyn Siemens earned 3rd to qualify for state. Gavin Callahan placed fifth and Aaron Warner also competed.

Hawk 8th grade boys fall
WEST BURLINGTON - Central Lee's 8th grade boys team lost 32-17 Tuesday night at West Burlington
Chase Johnson had 15 in the loss. Hunter Edlin had the other two points.
The boys are home Friday against Cardinal and Tuesday, Feb. 16th against Danville.
In the 7th grade game, Central Lee (5-2) won 33-32 in a squeeker. Owen Swan had 14 points and a couple assists, while Will Hayes had seven points and eight boards for the Hawks. Brant Kraciun had six points, while Ward Fraise, Caleb Larson and Colton Taft each scored two points on the night.

HTC boys sweep Van Buren County
HARMONY - Luke Hellige had 13 points as the Holy Trinity 8th graders downed Harmony 27-22 Tuesday night. HTC had four point lead in the first wiped out and were tied at 10 at halftime. Hellige had 11 of his points in the second half as the Crusaders pulled away. Adam Sobczak had eight, Brayton Schneider scored four and Tate Green had a bucket for HTC.
Isaac Loeffler had 14 for Van Buren.
In the 7th grade game, the Crusaders won 26-13. Layne Rung had 16 in the win. Jameson Denning had eight points and Nathan Box had a bucket for Holy Trinity.
