WP Mayor gets McCosh award for service

WEST POINT - At Monday's West Point City Council meeting, Mike Norris, Executive Director for Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission presented Mayor Paul Walker the Leland McCosh Memorial Award for 27 years of Mayoral service to the City of West Point, Iowa and for his many other involvements with volunteer organizations that serve West Point and Southeast Iowa.
Mayor Walker responded with his appreciationfor the award and gave credit to the citizens of West Point and outlying area residents and businesses for their volunteers and donations which is really the center of West Point's successes. Mayor Walker took a moment to brag about the newest businessessuch Kim's Confectionery, Benter Auto Repair, Holy Trinity Elementary as well as the newest paved street of Ave D at the eastern edge of town by the Merschman Family.
Mayor Walker is extremely proud of the City of West Point, Iowa and many times compares it to other Cities of the same size all across Iowa noting that we, as the City of West Point, have so much to be proud of.
