FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Area Arts Associationshuttered the doors to the public after the finale of Budding Artist Exhibition on February 6th. FMAAA will reopen to the public in March with a traveling exhibition from Fairfield. The internal repairs to the damage caused by leaking roof will be completed along with additional track lighting and new coat of paint for the interior. FMAAA is so thankful to the individual, families, and businesses that donated to “Raise the Roof” efforts in 2020. The organization will turn 40 years old as a 501c3 non-profit this summer, serving the Tri-State region. The new membrane for the exterior roof has a 25-year warranty. FMAAA looks forward to providing the best in cultural arts enrichment programs and events well into the future at 825 Avenue G. There is still time to donate to the FMAAA renovation during the February shutdown. Our local Ft. Madison HyVee submitted FMAAA as the nonprofit to benefit from their annual “Have a Heart” reusable bag campaign. When you purchase the Red Heart reusable bag this month at HyVee, a dollar is donated to the FMAAA renovation project! Have a “Heart for the Arts” this month at Ft. Madison HyVee with a bag purchase!
